April's Board Meeting Minutes

April 11, 2011
5:30 P.M.
Chairman Kevin Koth called the meeting to order. Present were Supervisors Joan Hilgendorf and Bill Jelinek. Robert Eisenman was absent.
Phyllis Evans gave the treasurer’s report as follows: Building & Office Equipment Fund - $53,009.15 Equipment Fund - $202,929.03 General Savings Account - $248,138.51, Checking Account - $126,051.85, Cemetery Fund - $19,755.44. Greenwood Cemetery CD’s - $100,000.00 and $12,021.55.
M/M Hilgendorf/Jelinek to approve the minutes from the March 14th, 2011.Motion passed 3-0
M/M Jelinek/Hilgendorf to approve payment of vouchers #3907 through #3959. Motion passed 3-0.
There were no license applications. The clerk had received Thank you cards from the Fred Borem and Russell Whittenberger families.
Assessor Caroline Lemke said that she had been contacted by Walter Menebroeker concerning his land being assessed at 6.19 acres and a survey shows that he only has 4.98. No action was taken.
M/M Koth/Hilgendorf to accept the bid from Kramer Company at $0.83/lineal foot for pulverizing and American Asphalt for blacktopping for an estimated total cost of $230,670.50. Motion passed 3-0.
Byron Lange reported that the road crew had some storm clean-up on River Oaks, Wadell and Alery Roads. Muskellunge Lake Road needs crack filling and he wants to contact Lincoln County Highway Dept. to do the work. Hilgendorf questioned why not have it done by the company that will be doing the crack filling on other roads. No decision was made.
There were no recommendations from the Plan Commission. Harry Gladwin reported that there may be three requests at the April 25th meeting.
Chairman Koth appointed Harry Gladwin, Ann Eckman, and Hal Schrage to the Plan Commission for a two year term from April 2011 to 2013.
Supervisor Jelinek reported that the spring burials have started, and the sexton is starting to clean up the cemetery grounds. Grubbing will be done for the scattering garden.
The board decided that they would not allow the hand digging of a grave that was requested for a Mennonite burial.
Supervisor Hilgendorf said that Derek Bartz will look at the large ball field at Kahle Park to see what needs to be done to get it into condition.
An ad will be placed in the Tomahawk Leader for summer help for the beaches, parks and hall grounds.
M/M to Hilgendorf/Koth adjourn. Motion passed 3-0
