Town Board Regular Meeting

December 11th, 2006 

 6:00 Meeting

   

Chairman Jack Huston called the meeting to order. Present were Supervisors Elsie Bartz, Bill Jelinek and Kevin Koth.

 

Phyllis Evans gave the Treasurer’s report:  Building & Office Equipment Fund - $32,231.55 Equipment Fund - $14,684.36, General Savings Account - $3,132.21 Checking Account - $147,756.38, Indebtedness - $85,603.40.  Two Greenwood Cemetery CD’s - $135,416.53 and $10,539.68. M/M Bartz/Jelinek to accept the report. Passed 4-0

 

M/M Koth/Jelinek to approve the minutes of the meeting of November 12, 2006.  Passed 4-0

 

M/M Koth/Bartz to approve payment of vouchers #13824 through #13890 Passed 4-0

 

There was no correspondence.

 

As there were some question and Tom Dercks was not present to explain the dredging permit for the public boat landing on Half Moon Lake it will be placed on the January agenda.

 

M/M Bartz/Koth to change the wage rates for hourly workers were raised twenty cents per hour with the exception of the Road Supervisor and Road Consultant, which was raised thirty-five cents to keep them in line with the union raises for 2007. Part-time beaches and park was omitted. Election Chief Inspectors was added at $8.25 per hour. Passed 4-0

 

M/M Jelinek/Huston to approve the fire call ordinance amendment authorizing the recovery of fire charges by imposing a special charge against real estate. Passed 4-0

 

Harold DeHart explained that he was thinking of putting in a walking trail, possibly on the road right-of-way. He will come back to the board when he has definite plans.

 

Byron Lange said that D.O.T. now needs more detailed information when we add a road for gas tax. They will be sending Byron the information.

 

Byron reported that the letters have been sent out to the landowners on Koth and Beach Road and they are starting to mark those roads as well as Peaceful Valley Road for cutting and brushing.

 

Duffek Sand & Gravel will be crushing 15,500 base yards of gravel for the town. We will pay $50,000.00 of it the end of this year and the balance the beginning of 2007.

 

The gate still has not been removed by the Nelson’s on Alery Road. Huston will talk to Don Nelson to let him know that the town will be removing it.

 

Byron, Bob Eisenman and the road workers met with the Attorney Robert Reid concerning Sand Lane. The hearing will be December 19th.

 

Supervisor Koth left at 7:10.

 

M/M Bartz/Huston to purchase a running board for approx. $492.00 installed, a tool box for $399.00 and a mileage meter for approx. $565.00 for the new pick-up truck and a laser level for $1,456.00 to be paid for out of the 2007 budget. Motion passed 3-0.

 

M/M Jelinek/Bartz to purchase fenders for the grader for $778.00. Motion passed 3-0.

 

M/M Bartz/Jelinek not to purchase the extended warranty for the new pick-up trick. Motion passed 3-0.

 

Plan Commission Chair Harry Gladwin reported that there were two zoning changes from Bill Wickman and Larry Hurtis that will be considered at the December meeting. Nic Sparacio of Foth & Vandyke had sent the final draft of the sub-division ordinance. He said that he would like to see more training for the commission and that Diane Hanson and possible Dan Miller could attend the Plan Commission meetings to explain some of the procedures. He has also asked Assessor Caroline Lemke to explain how to read the tax books.

 

M/M Huston/Bartz to send a letter to Jeff and Janet Lewis stating that the Sand Lane road repair was done to the town’s satisfaction. Passed 3-0.

 

Huston appointed the election officials for 2007. A list is on file in the clerk’s office.

 

It was decided to wait until spring to decide what to do with the old cemetery mower.

 

M/M Jelinek/Bartz to adjourn. Passed 3-0.
