January's Board Meeting Minutes
Town Board Monthly Meeting
January 11, 2010
6:00 P.M.
Chairman Kevin Koth called the meeting to order. Present were Supervisors Joan Hilgendorf, Bill Jelinek and LeRoy Rupnow.
Following the Pledge of Allegiance Phyllis Evans gave the treasurer’s report as follows: Building & Office Equipment Fund - $43,034.28 Equipment Fund - $136,209.44, General Savings Account - $2,346,678.77, Checking Account - $73,681.47, Cemetery Building - $20,233.01, Greenwood Cemetery CD’s - $100,000.00 and $11,771.91.
M/M Hilgendorf/Rupnow to approve the minutes of the four meetings on December 14th with corrections to the Cemetery CD and Checking Account amounts. Passed 4-0
M/M Jelinek/Rupnow to approve payment of vouchers #2912 through #2987.Passed 4-0.
There were no license applications.
M/M Hilgendorf/Koth to deny the request from Richard Iacomini for tax overpayments dating back to 1997 as the claim has to be made by January 31st in the year the overpayment was made according to the State Statutes. Passed 4-0.
M/M Hilgendorf/Jelinek to charge a $10.00 fee for appraisal company requests for information. All requests must be made in writing. Passed 4-0
The board agreed that propane tanks should be rented for the waste and recycling sites. It will be placed on the April agenda when a decision will be made as to which company to rent from.
M/M Jelinek/Hilgendorf to pay Plan Commission Vice Chair Ann Eckman $12.35 per hour on her own time to type the Land Use updates. Passed 4-0
M/M Hilgendorf/Jelinek to adopt the Resolution to Oppose DOR County Assessment Proposal. Passed 4-0.
Byron Lange reported that the tree cutting on Deer Lake Road has started. He said that the town will have to hire someone to top some of the trees. He will check with Foley’s.
The clerk will contact Pete Wurl at WPS to see if the can do an energy audit mainly for the furnaces in the back room.
Jelinek said that he had had a letter from a resident on McWilski Road asking why the entry into the road is not being plowed. He will let the person know that as it is a private road we cannot plow it.
