Town Board Regular Meeting

June 11, 2007

6:00 P.M.

   

Chairman Jack Huston called the meeting to order. Present were Supervisors Joan Hilgendorf, Bill Jelinek and Kevin Koth.

 

Following the Pledge of Allegiance Phyllis Evans gave the treasurer’s report as follows:  Building & Office Equipment Fund - $36,941.06 Equipment Fund - $11,728.83, General Savings Account - $160,395.89 Checking Account - $55,727.64 Two Greenwood Cemetery CD’s - $135,416.53 and $10,539.68. M/M Hilgendorf/Jelinek to accept the report. Passed 4-0

 

M/M Hilgendorf/Koth to approve the minutes of May 14, 2007 as corrected. Passed 4-0

 

M/M Hilgendorf/Huston to approve the payment of vouchers #14232 through #14283. Passed 4-0

 

A thank you note was read form Jeff and Kay Olson for the use of Kahle Park. They noted that the park had not been mowed and they had to do it. They asked for a partial refund of the park rental.

M/M Hilgendorf/Huston to refund $25.00 to Joe Kahle who did the mowing. Hilgendorf and Huston voted “yes”, Jelinek and Koth votes “no”. Motion failed.

 

M/M Koth/Hilgendorf to approve the fireworks permit of Mike and Mary Smith for July 3rd. Passed 4-0.

 

M/M Koth/Hilgendorf to approve the fireworks permit for Kenard Kenworthy for July 1st through July 6th. Passed 4-0.

 

M/M Koth/Hilgendorf to approve the fireworks permit for Bob and Judy Weaver as amended to July 2nd through July 7th.  Passed 4-0

 

Road Consultant Byron Lange reported that the road crew would be moving the gate on Alery Road at Nelson’s expense as the gate was never moved from town property.

The blacktopping on Stone Road and Kings Road is finished and the shouldering is being worked on.

Byron has been working with Akey Engineering and some of the roads will not need DNR permits as was thought.

Byron talked with Dave Bethel and the curve on Rapel Road will be redone.

Century Fence and the county will be contacted for the cost of painting the centerline on Kings Road.

A registered letter will be sent to Terry Selmer concerning the leaves and pine needles that have been dumped in the ditch on town right-of-way that is plugging the culver causing the road to flood during heavy rain. A copy will also be sent to the Sheriff’s Department.

 

M/M Koth/Jelinek to have Chuck Theiler mow the north part and B&J Enterprises mow the south part of Bradley. Passed 4-0.

 

M/M Hilgendorf/Jelinek to adopt the “Permit to Construct, Maintain and Operate Utilities Within Highway Right-of-Way” and the fees as presented to the board. Passed 4-0.

 

M/M Koth/Jelinek to accept the offer from Louis Miller to dedicate an out lot near East Bay Estates. Passed 4-0.

 

A meeting will be set up for June 14th to meet with Robert Reuter for a fill in at the Waste & Recycling sites.

 

M/M Hilgendorf/Huston to renew the Assessor’s contract at the same salary of $27,000.00 per year plus an additional $50.00 per month for mileage. Passed 4-0.

 

Supervisor Jelinek reported that there was no water at the cemetery over Memorial Day due to a broken pipe.

 

Supervisor Koth reported that the boys from Lincoln Hills would begin working at the parks this week.

The tennis courts need crack filling and sand will be placed under the playground equipment.

Andy Schmidt will work on the bleachers this fall.

 

Supervisor Hilgendorf reported that she is trying to contact Dave White to do upkeep on the buildings and grounds to see if he is interested.

 

M/M Koth/Huston to replace the flooring with ceramic tile from Wholesale Carpets. Passed 4-0.

The hall will be closed for the week that they lay the flooring, tentatively July 16th through July 20th.

 

Hilgendorf will be meeting with Victory Janitorial Service for an estimate on cleaning the hall.

 

A new refrigerator is needed for Kahle Park. The board gave permission to look for a used one.

 

M/M Koth/Jelinek to approve the request for a zoning map change from Robert Schmidtbauer to change parcel no. 04.13506.002.001.03 located on Schmidtbauer Road from Rural Lands 4 to Rural Residential 3. Passed 4-0

 

 

M/M Koth/Huston to adjourn. Passed 4-0
