June's Board Meeting Minutes
Town Board Regular Meeting
June 9, 2008
6:00 P.M.
Chairman Jack Huston called the meeting to order. Present were Supervisors Joan Hilgendorf, and Kevin Koth. Bill Jelinek was absent.
Following the Pledge of Allegiance Phyllis Evans gave the treasurer’s report as follows: Building & Office Equipment Fund - $35,849.34 Equipment Fund - $77,690.93, General Savings Account - $270,202.60 Checking Account - $41,847.34 Two Greenwood Cemetery CD’s - $135,416.53 and $10,918.58. M/M Hilgendorf/Koth to accept the report. Passed 3-0
M/M Hilgendorf/Koth to approve payment of vouchers #1572 through #1643. Passed 3-0.
M/M Koth/Hilgendorf to approve the operator’s license of Kirby Timm. Passed 3-0.
M/M Hilgendorf/Koth to approve the Class B Beer & Liquor licenses for the following: Besse’s On Clear Lake, A&J Sports, The Good Times, Big Moose Supper Club, Four Corners Tap, End Zone, Fish Bones Saloon & Eatery, Tomahawk Race Way, and Junction Restaurant. Passed 3-0.
M/M Hilgendorf/Koth to approve the zoning/map change request and Resolution 2008-3 for John Kablitz from RR2 to RL5. The public hearing had been held previously to the town Board meeting with no objections. Passed 3-0
M/M Koth/Hilgendorf to approve the zoning/map change request and Resolution 2008-4 for Lawrence Carstensen from Forestry to RL4. Passed 3-0
Approval for the following fireworks permits: Koth/Huston for Bruce Redlin at 10144 Echo Valley Road (July 5). M/M Huston/Hilgendorf for Hal Schrage at W6815 Peaceful Valley Road (July 4 & 5), M/M Hilgendorf/Koth for Ken Kenworthy ay W5216 High View Road (July 4 & 5), M/M Hilgendorf/Huston for Bill Steinhafel at N9448 Sunset Point Road (July4 & 5), M/M Michael Smith at W7183 Loop Road (July 4 & 5). All passed 3-0.
M/M Hilgendorf/Huston to approve the $25.00 payment of yearly dues for the Lincoln County Chapter of WTA which will be used to help cover expenses for hosting the quarterly meetings and miscellaneous costs. Passed 3-0.
Tammy Anderson wasn’t present to discuss the loud music at Billy Bob’s. The clerk noted that there would be a request for a conditional use permit for a seasonal tent for outdoor music coming in front of the Plan Commission at the next meeting and it would be discussed then.
M/M Koth/Hilgendorf not to pay the $25.00 surcharge request for each grave opening since January 1, 2008 by Arnott Trucking for grave openings. Passed 3-0. Their request for new rates will be placed on the July agenda.
Jerry and Carol Seis were present to object to placing a manufactured home on property W7010 Loop Road belonging to James and Karen Lyon to replace an old camper that was on the property when they bought it. Mr. and Mrs. Seis noted that there is junk on the property and that the placement of a manufactured home would devalue their property. When asked Mrs. Seis said that the camper and junk had been on the property when they purchased their home, but they didn’t realize it, as they could not see it from their property. Mrs. Lyon said that they would be cleaning up the property. M/M Hilgendorf/Koth to approve the manufactured home permit. Passed 3-0.
The clerk noted that Quest Development, owners of North Country Estate Mobile Home Park is five months behind in their tax payments to the town. She had sent a letter on June 3rd but has not received any response yet.
Road Consultant Byron Lange reported that the American Asphalt bill for Koth Road came in lower than the bid and that he felt that this road should have a centerline and edge stripes on the corners. The board agreed. Byron will contact Langlade County to check into the price.
Duffek Sand & Gravel will be starting on Peaceful Valley Road after July 4th. A culvert on Swamp Road needs replacement. A closed session has been set for June 23rd at 5:00 P.M. to discuss Sand Lane.
Supervisor Koth reported that the tennis court at Kahle Park is done and also the basketball hoops have been put up. The clerk will write thank you notes to James Koth, Bob Leck and Jerry Kaminski to thank them for the work they have done at Theisen Park.
M/M to have Chuck Theiler and B&J Enterprises mow the roadsides again this year. They both gave a price of $45.00 per hour.
Jelinek and Huston will be looking into the problems at the cemetery.
Phyllis Evans will look for a new refrigerator for Kahle Park.
