Town Board Regular Meeting

June 13, 2011 

5:30 P.M.

 

Chairman Kevin Koth called the meeting to order. Present were Supervisors Joan Hilgendorf, Robert Eisenman and Bill Jelinek.

 

Phyllis Evans gave the treasurer’s report as follows:  Building & Office Equipment Fund - $53,066.75 Equipment Fund - $203,101.85 General Savings Account - $248,345.91, Checking Account - $113,296.97, Cemetery Fund - $19,755.44. Greenwood Cemetery CD’s - $100,000.00 and $12,021.55.

 

M/M Hilgendorf/Jelinek to approve the minutes from the May 9th meeting with the General Saving Account corrected to read $248,237.09. Motion passed 4-0

 

M/M Hilgendorf/Eisenman to approve payment of vouchers #4012 through #4079. Motion passed 4-0.

 

M/M Hilgendorf/Jelinek to approve the operator’s license for James Wolf and the liquor/bee applications for  the following establishments A&J Sports Bar & Grill, Besse’s On Clear Lake, Road Lake Pub & Grill, Billy Bob's Sports Bar & Grill, Edgewater Country Club, Cockatiel's Bar & Grill, Rattleznake Jakez, Four Corners Tap, Holly's, Inshalla Country Club,  End Zone, The Good Times, Norma's 2, Oaks Pub, Silver Birch Supper Club, T's Roadhouse, Fishbones, Tomahawk Race Way, Kracker Barrel, and The Junction Restaurant. Motion passed 4-0

Plan Commission Chair Harry Gladwin reported that the commission recommended approval of the rezone request by Jim Swan and that the next meeting will be June 27th, if needed.

 

M/M Jelinek/Eisenman to approve the rezone request of Jin Swan for parcel 04.063406.011.001.01.02 from RL2 to Crossroads Mixed Use and to hold a public hearing at 5:00 p.m. July 11th. Motion passed 4-0.

 

M/M Jelinek/Eisenman to accept the low bid of $50.00 per hour for the roadside mowing. Motion passed 4-0.

 

Byron Lange reported that the grubbing was finished on Skudris and Norton Roads, the corduroy was removed from Alery Road and a sand lift was put in. Wadell and Geoffroy Roads have been blacktopped.

Foley Tree Service will be cutting three trees on Road Lake Road, Road pulverizing will be done the first week in July and Stelling and Alery Road will be blacktopped in August.

 

Road Foreman Brian Gruhlke will contact American Gas & Welding to have them draw up a contract for the board to review.

 

M/M Koth/Eisenman to accept the proposal from Fahrner for the crack filling. The Long Asphalt proposal was discussed as it was a lower in the dollar total but did not comply with the proposal specs as it didn’t specify the price per pound or the type of material to be used. Motion passed 4-0, but Hilgendorf voted reluctantly.

 

M/M Koth/Hilgendorf to accept the assessor’s contract with the additional gas price added into her annual salary. Motion passed 4-0. The assessor will retype the contract for the Chair to sign.

 

M/M Koth/Joan to approve the fireworks permits for Hal Schrage (2), Brian Luttropp, Robert Weaver, Douglas Scheel, Ken Kenworthy, William Steinhafel, and John Swarmer. Motion passed 4-0.

 

Bill Jelinek reported that Cemetery Sexton Jim Kincaid got a job at Lincoln Hills and is willing to stay as sexton. Bill would like to keep him on until his three month probationary period is over. Rick Jahns will help out on Monday and Wednesday. The board agreed.

Bill also said he is going through the cemetery ordinance to see what pertains to Greenwood Cemetery deleting what doesn’t and adding what is needed.

Cleaning at Kahle Park and Theisen was discussed. Supervisor Hilgendorf stated that Phyllis Evans will do the cleaning at Kahle Park and Supervisor Eisenman stated that Joe Farmer will do the cleaning at Theisen Park and Crystal Beach. Cleaning supplies will be kept at each park. Supervisors Hilgendorf and Eisenman stated that Lincoln Hills Boys School CAPP Program will no longer be needed to do the free cleaning at the Parks and Beach.

 

Joe Farmer will be putting up the teeter-totters at both parks with help from the road crew.

 

Joan reported that the cost of new fluorescent technology lighting in the shop would be approximately $634.00 each. She will be looking into it further. She also checked over the contract with Urban Steel and could find nothing concerning the front of the buildings matching.

 

Three “no dogs allowed” signs will be ordered for the town hall.

 

Board of Review will be August 4th at 5:00 P.M. until all appointments are finished.

 

A letter will be sent to the Fish Trap Bar telling them they cannot use our waste and recycling sites as they are not in the Town of Bradley.

 

M/M Hilgendorf/Koth to adjourn. Motion passed 4-0.
