March's Board Meeting Minutes
Town Board Regular Meeting
March 8, 2010
6:00 P.M.
Chairman Kevin Koth called the meeting to order. Present were Supervisors Joan Hilgendorf, and Bill Jelinek and LeRoy Rupnow.
Following the Pledge of Allegiance Phyllis Evans gave the treasurer’s report as follows: Building & Office Equipment Fund - $43,084.93 Equipment Fund - $136,361.33, General Savings Account - $319,057.69, Checking Account - $142,885.77, Cemetery Building - $20,233.01, Greenwood Cemetery CD’s - $100,000.00 and $11,823.85.
M/M Hilgendorf/Jelinek to approve the minutes for the meeting on February 8th. Passed 4-0
M/M Hilgendorf/Rupnow to approve payment of vouchers #3054 through #3105. Passed 4-0.
There were no license applications.
Randy Scholz was at the meeting to discuss the prevailing wage law that took effect in January. The prevailing wage form will be filled out for two of the roads the town will be doing this summer. The road foreman will start checking the roads for crack filling.
Letters will be sent if there is a problem with cars on the town right-of-way that interfere with snow plowing. The Winter Maintenance Policy will be changed to state that the town will not be responsible for any damage done to vehicles parked on the right-of-way.
M/M Hilgendorf/Jelinek to approve the fireworks permit for Cherie and Michael Brown. Passed 4-0
Supervisor Hilgendorf said she felt that only one person would be needed for beaches and parks summer help this year. Dana Turgeon will be contacted to see if he is interested in working again this year. She also said that she had a $4,000.00 estimate to update the plumbing, add sinks and an “on demand” water heater at Kahle Park. The board felt that the work needed to be done.
Supervisor Jelinek said that Ace Hardware now carries the clear kitchen bags, 33 and 55 gallon sizes. He gave the board a price listing of 44” and 48” mowers for the cemetery.
Harry Gladwin reported that the revised Land Use Plan cannot be completed until we get the updated demographics from Lincoln County Zoning. The next meeting will be March 22nd. There may be rezone and conditional use permit applications at that meeting.
Supervisor Jelinek said that we should start looking for a better tape recorder for the meeting as the play back is very hard to hear. Harry Gladwin said the board should look into microphones at the board table.
A letter will be sent to Charter Communications to have them move their cables on Deer Lake Road as they will interfere with the reconstruction.
