March's Board Meeting Minutes
Town Board Regular Meeting
March 14, 2011
5:30 P.M.
Chairman Kevin Koth called the meeting to order. Present were Supervisors Joan Hilgendorf, Bill Jelinek and Robert Eisenman.
Phyllis Evans gave the treasurer’s report as follows: Building & Office Equipment Fund - $52,977.92 Equipment Fund - $202,835.31 General Savings Account - $248,026.05, Checking Account - $158,051.21, Greenwood Cemetery CD’s - $100,000.00 and $12,021.55.
M/M Hilgendorf/Eisenman to approve the minutes from the February14th meeting with the addition of the collected tax money amount of $2,506,706.10 added. Motion passed 4-0
M/M Eisenman/Jelinek to approve payment of vouchers #3858 through #3907. Motion passed 4-0.
There were no license applications or correspondence.
Plan Commission Chair Harry Gladwin reported that Dan Miller attended the February 28th meeting and reviewed the process of the County Plan update. There is no Plan Commission meeting planned for March at this time.
Byron Lange reported that he checked with Gladwin Logging and that the town would be paid the scale price for the logs cut at Theisen Park. The cutting on Red Pine is partially finished and Bob Eisenman will be cutting the right-of-way that adjoins his property. He has obtained a permit.
The black top bid notice will be sent to the Tomahawk Leader for publication on March 22nd sand 29th and also mailed to blacktopping companies. The bids will be opened on April 7th at 11 A.M.
The weight limits will be going on at noon March 15th.
Joan reported that Urban Construction has been contacted about the mismatched fascia on the building and they will be sending someone to look at it.
Bill said that the cemetery sexton had been contacted about a Mennonite burial. They are asking to dig the grave opening by hand. The clerk will contact the insurance company concerning liability. More information is needed. It will be placed on the April agenda.
Bill asked that the board consider raising the per diem for the Plan Commission from $25 to $35 and $30 to $40 for the Chair and the secretary for the first two hours and from $30.00 to $40/$50 to $60 for the next two hours. No decision was made.
Chairman Koth reported on the proposed state budget bill. He said that we may lose $29,500 in shared revenue, $9,700 in recycling grant money and approximately $4,500 to $5,000 in transportation aids. Also the local tax levy could not be raised. Joan said that we might have to hold off on the purchase of a new truck as we don’t know how these losses will affect the budget.
A tree will be planted in memory of Russell Whittenberger when weather permits.
