Town Board Pre-Meeting

May 9th, 2005   

5:30 P.M.

 

Chairman Jack Huston called the meeting to order. Present were Supervisors Elsie Bartz and Bill Jelinek. Kevin Koth arrived late.

 

The vouchers had been signed.

 

Plan Commission Chair Diana Smith gave the commission report to the board. The next meeting will be May 23, 2005 at 6:30.

 

Smith reported on the Lincoln County Zoning meeting of April 27th.

 

The Board agreed that Smith would write a letter to the other town’s informing them of the specifics of Bradley’s situation regarding the current omission of Contractor Shops in the Planned Business District.

Town Board Regular Meeting

May 9th, 2005   

Immediately Following 5:30 Meeting

 

Chairman Jack Huston called the meeting to order.  Present were Supervisors Elsie Bartz, Bill Jelinek and Kevin Koth.

 

Phyllis Evans gave the Treasurer’s report:  Building Fund - $18,828.01, Equipment Fund - $122,418.15 reserved for gravel - $25,784.50, General Savings Account - $247182.00, Checking Account - $53,789.81, indebtedness - $210,615.53.  Two Greenwood Cemetery CD’s - $135,416.53 and $9,942.02.  M/M Koth/Bartz to approve. 4-0

 

M/M Bartz/Jelinek to approve the minutes of 4-12 (2) and 4-21-05 with typo corrections. 4-0

 

M/M Bartz/Jelinek to approve payment of vouchers #12457 through #12510. 4-0

 

M/M Bartz/Koth to approve the licenses for the following establishments:

A&J Sports                               Nokomis Inn Supper Club

Edgewater Country Club            Cockatiel's Bar & Grill              

The Good Times                        Holly's  

Rachel's Mistletoe Inn                 T's Roadhouse

M/M Jelinek/Koth to approve the operator’s licenses for Keshia Bentley. 4-0

 

There was no correspondence.

 

Joe Trapp reported on the upcoming water testing. He said that he would not be available to transport the samples to Stevens Point, as he will be out of town on June 7th. John Swarmer volunteered to transport them. Trapp will write a “Letter to the Editor” for the Tomahawk Leader with the information for Bradley residents for publication May 24th.

 

Supervisor Koth reported that the posts are in for the fencing at Theisen Park and the shelter is being worked on. John Swarmer has been in contact with Building Inspector David Hilgendorf for state code regulations. The water has been turned on at the parks, some clean up is still needed.

The Tannery shack will be done the end of school. The Lincoln Hills crew will be cleaning Kahle Park on Fridays. Phyllis Evans will also be cleaning at Kahle and Judy Reason will help when needed. M/M Huston/Koth to pay Phyllis $10.60 for cleaning. 3-1 Jelinek voted no.

 

Byron Lange reported that road grinding will be started the week of the 16th. Grubbing bids will be sent to the Leader.  M/M Huston/Bartz to have Lincoln County do the crack filling again this year.

 

Dave Lehnherr was present for the discussion on his request for abandonment on a portion of an undeveloped road off of Nokomis Drive. The Board feels that there should be a survey done. He was told that he is responsible for all costs incurred.

 

Supervisor Bartz said that a new pump has been installed at the cemetery and that Komerek will check the old pump for defects or a possible lightening strike. Huston will check prices for a leaf bagger for the new mower and also for a larger trailer.

 

Koth noted that Andy Schmidt should not drag the baseball diamonds this year. The baseball teams should do it.

 

The Waste & Recycling sites will resume their regular hours following Memorial Day.

 

Harry Gladwin thanked the road crew for the great job they did when the culvert caved in on Cottage Road.
