Town Board Regular Meeting

May 12, 2008  

6:00 P.M.

 

Chairman Jack Huston called the meeting to order. Present were Supervisors Joan Hilgendorf, Bill Jelinek and Kevin Koth.

 

Following the Pledge of Allegiance Phyllis Evans gave the treasurer’s report as follows:  Building & Office Equipment Fund - $35,789.58 Equipment Fund - $74,331.15, General Savings Account - $269,914.20 Checking Account - $68,345.96 Two Greenwood Cemetery CD’s - $135,416.53 and $10,918.58. M/M Koth/Jelinek to accept the report. Passed 4-0

 

M/M Hilgendorf/Huston to approve payment of vouchers #1501 through #1571. Passed 4-0.

 

M/M Jelinek/Koth to approve the operator’s license of Barbara Woodward. Passed 4-0.

 

M/M Hilgendorf/Koth to approve the Class B Beer & Liquor licenses for the following: Edgewater Country Club, T's Roadhouse, Desperado, Norma's 2, Oaks Pub, Silver Birch Supper Club, Billy Bob's Sports Bar & Grill, Holly's and the Class B Beer license for Kracker Barrel. Passed 4-0.

 

M/M Koth/Hilgendorf to approve the fireworks permit for Billy Bob’s for May 25th. Passed 4-0.

 

Byron Lange reported that there should be “No parking between signs” put up on one side of Center Road. The black top has been removed on the corner of S and Curve Inn.

The board agreed that the basketball hoops should be placed on the tennis court for safety reasons.

 

A letter will be sent to Lincoln County Zoning and to Skip Conner regarding the condition of the Fulsher School property and also to Don Hartwig on W. Kraft Road concerning the garbage on his property.

 

M/M Jelinek/Hilgendorf to accept the low bid of $102,555.00 from Duffek Sand & Gravel for Peaceful Valley Road. Passed 4-0. Byron noted that twelve bids went out, four came back by the 10:00 A.M. bid opening time and were opened and three were rejected as they came in after the specified time.

 

Supervisor Jelinek reported that the Greenwood Cemetery is being raked and cleaned up and the winter burials are jest about finished. Lynn Zimmerman will again be planting around the pond.

 

Supervisor Koth reported that Andy Schmidt thatched part of Kahle Park, Lincoln Hills boys will be starting the cleaning on June 2nd through Labor Day. Justin Lemke will be helping out at the hall and the parks. Dugouts are being worked on at Theisen Park.

 

Phyllis Evans will make a general list of cleaning to be done at the hall.

 

Supervisor Jelinek asked that the door to the shop be replaced with an inside lock on it for safety concerns. It is to be locked whenever the road crew is out.

 

Jelinek also noted that Paul Barker should be first call when a fill-in is needed at the Waste & Recycling sites.

 

M/M Jelinek/Hilgendorf to adjourn. Passed 4-0.
