"UNAPPROVED MINUTES"

Town Board Regular Meeting

May 10, 2010  

5:30 P.M.

 

Chairman Kevin Koth called the meeting to order. Present were Supervisors Joan Hilgendorf, Bill Jelinek and Robert Eisenman.

Phyllis Evans gave the treasurer’s report as follows:  Building & Office Equipment Fund - $43,140.90 Equipment Fund - $136,529.41, General Savings Account - $319,415.75, Checking Account - $74,230.36, Cemetery Building - $20,233.01, Greenwood Cemetery CD’s - $100,000.00 and $11,823.85.

M/M Hilgendorf/Jelinek to approve the minutes for the meeting on April 13th. Motion passed 4-0

 M/M Jelinek/Eisenman to approve payment of vouchers #3164 through #3229. Motion passed 4-0.

There were no license applications.

The clerk said she had a letter from MSA Professional Services concerning an informational meeting June 16th at the Bradley Town Hall concerning the Rice River bridge replacement in Cty Hwy Y. She also had a letter from Keri Sherman concerning the condition of property on Bay Mill Road.

M/M Koth/Hilgendorf to accept the low bid of $1.09 per pound from Long Asphalt Co. for the crack filling. Motion passed 4-0

M/M Koth/Eisenman to have Fahrner install polymastic material on Crass Road. Motion passed 4-0

M/M Hilgendorf/Jelinek to approve the request of Todd Lenhardt for a conditional use permit to rent his seasonal home located at N9927 Sunset Point Road on a weekly/weekend basis with the following conditions:

A.  Advertising for the facility shall clearly state that it is a 2-bedroom home with a maximum capacity of 6 people.

B.  The applicant shall employ a local site manager to respond to complaints from the neighbors regarding use of the property and to act as an official representative should zoning need to investigate a complaint.

C.  Because the lot is small and not well screened, we suggest that following limits for recreational craft – 1 motorboat and a maximum of two motorized personal water crafts (jet skis). There may also be a maximum of two non motorized boats but in no case may there be more than 3 boats in total to be present on the shore, land, or dock at any given time.

D.  No more than two vehicles owned by renters allowed parked on the premises.

Motion passed 4-0

M/M Koth/Eisenman to approve the Request of Mark Dochnahl/Tom Whalen for a minor sub-division (3 lots). Motion passed 4-0

Byron Lange said that work will be started in a week on Deer Lake Road and East Deer Lake Road.  Brian Gruhlke said that the muffler went out on the blower and will be approximately $100.00 to replace. John Swarmer will check on prices.

Shenley Swarmer put in the high bid for the old cemetery mower. His bid was $170.00. Bill Jelinek, Jr. bid $101.99.

The clerk will contact Curt Harry about a speaker/recording device for the meeting room. Harry Gladwin will contact Odgren Electronics.

Supervisor Jelinek reported that the cemetery is looking good. He will be purchasing an air compressor to clean the mowers after mowing.  They are also going to start on the scattering garden plans.

It was decided that all the mowers will get checked over in the spring by the business they were purchased from.

The park mower‘s motor went out. The board decided to go with a rebuilt for approximately $1,000.00. A check list will be used each time the mowers are used to insure proper maintenance. Phyllis Evans has cleaned Kahle Park and done some painting. At Theisen the building was moved from the lower to the upper diamond and the batting cage is up. Crystal Beach has been cleaned, a building painted and mowing done.

A dumpster will be kept behind the building for the park and hall garbage.  Baumgart will empty when necessary.

The board agreed to let the Friends of Jersey City Flowage put a bulletin board up at the boat landing.

M/M Hilgendorf/Koth to approve the fireworks permit for the Tomahawk Speedway.

Jan Johnson brought some pictures of a property on Kaufman Road. She will be contacting Lincoln County Zoning, the Health Department, and the DNR concerning the condition of the property.

M/M Hilgendorf/Jelinek to adjourn. Motion passed 4-0
