Town Board Regular Meeting
November 10, 2008
Immediately following the Budget Meetings
Supervisor Bill Jelinek called the meeting to order in the absence of Chairman Jack Huston. Present were Supervisors Joan Hilgendorf and Kevin Koth.
Following the Pledge of Allegiance Phyllis Evans gave the treasurer’s report as follows: Building & Office Equipment Fund - $35,774.46, Equipment Fund - $78,002.04, General Savings Account - $75,927.11, Checking Account - $136,912.99, Two Greenwood Cemetery CD’s - $135,416.53 and $10,918.58. M/M Koth/Hilgendorf to accept the report. Passed 3-0
M/M Hilgendorf/Koth to approve the minutes of the meeting on October13th. Passed 3-0
M/M Koth/Hilgendorf to approve payment of vouchers #1988 through #2000. Passed 3-0.
M/M Koth/Hilgendorf to approve the operator’s license for Kim Manoch. Passed 3-0
Byron Lange reported that the trees are cut on Sand Lane and also the application sent to Corps of Engineer has not yet been returned. Byron would like to get the stumping and grubbing done before winter. He asked that the board consider doing something for the two landowners who donated 13 feet of their property to widen Sand Lane. It will be placed on the December agenda.
The shoulders have been cleaned on Willow Lane and the two road workers and Byron put reflector posts on Peaceful Valley Road. The road workers are putting up snow fence.
Another letter will be sent to the property owner on Wadell Road about obtaining a driveway permit and to the owner on Sunset Point Road to remove the temporary driveway that was put in for hauling logs.
M/M Hilgendorf/Koth to purchase a new brush saw. Passed 3-0
The old shop lights will be given to those that are interested in them.
M/M Hilgendorf/Koth to purchase a 90-gallon storage cabinet for gas cans from Grainger at a cost of $1502.00. Motion passed 3-0. The fire inspector recommended this.
M/M Hilgendorf/Jelinek to leave the snowplow policy as is. Passed 3-0
A meeting will be set up with the City of Tomahawk Engineer to draw up a policy for the mutually owned roads, as has been have done with other towns.
Due to a complaint received at Board of Review concerning several campers parked on property on Bellevue Road, the clerk will write a letter to Lincoln County Zoning to have them check it. A meeting will also be set up with Dan Miller, a board member and Skip Conner regarding the old Fulsher School property.
M/M Hilgendorf/Koth that any signs for private roads will be purchased by the property owners on that road. The town will order the road name and private road signs, the post and bracket and do the installing. Passed 3-0.
The clerk reported that North Country Estate mobile home court (Quest Development) is behind in their tax payments back to June. She will contact Attorney Alberg and have him contact Quest Development to inform them that it must be paid in full by December 15th or the 2009 license will not be issued.
Bill Jelinek said that Arnott Trucking would be demolishing the old cemetery building next week.
There was no action taken on installing power in the new cemetery building.
Plan Commission Chair Harry Gladwin reported that the October was cancelled, as there were no applications. The next meeting will be November 17th.
M/M Hilgendorf/Koth to have the clerk sign the WVIC Waterway Marker Permit. Passed 3-0.
M/M Hilgendorf/Koth to purchase a rug cleaner. Passed 3-0.
Jelinek said that there had been a complaint on the grading of Red Pine Road. He went out to check and Brian was still working on it and it looked good. He thought that the person called in the complaint before the road had been completely graded.
Koth said that a person from Kings Dam had contacted him. They are having a problem with people taking boats under the buoys into unsafe area. Neither the sheriff’s department nor the DNR will do anything unless the town has an ordinance.
Byron Lange said he would like to have someone from the DNR look at the wooded area at Theisen Park and possibly mark it for selective cutting.
