Town Board Regular Meeting

September 10, 2007

6:00 P.M.

 

Chairman Jack Huston called the meeting to order. Present were Supervisors Joan Hilgendorf, Bill Jelinek and Kevin Koth.

 

Following the Pledge of Allegiance Phyllis Evans gave the treasurer’s report as follows:  Building & Office Equipment Fund - $37,051.55 Equipment Fund - $11,765.69, General Savings Account - $10,545.37 Checking Account - $207,424.31 Two Greenwood Cemetery CD’s - $135,416.53 and $10,539.68. M/M Hilgendorf/Jelinek to accept the report. Passed 4-0

 

M/M Jelinek/Koth to approve the minutes of August 13 as. Passed 4-0

 

M/M Hilgendorf/Huston to approve the payment of vouchers #14422 through #14500 and 1001. Passed 4-0

 

M/M Hilgendorf/Jelinek to approve the operator’s license for Linda Bradfish. Passed 4-0

M/M Koth/Hilgendorf to approve the Class B license for Tomahawk Race Way. Passed 4-0

 

There was no correspondence.

 

Plan Commission Chair Harry Gladwin reported that the commission recommends approval of the conditional use permit for Kevin and Cynthia Baumann to join two viewing corridors with the provisions and conditions approved by Lincoln County. M/M Koth/Hilgendorf to recommend approval of this to Lincoln County Zoning. Passed 4-0

 

M/M Hilgendorf/Huston to approve a fee refund policy for cancellation of zoning changes, conditional use permits or major/minor subdivisions applications if no costs have been incurred by the Town of Bradley and the cancellation has been received at least one day prior to the scheduled meeting. Passed 4-0

 

Gladwin and Jelinek will be attending the round table discussion September 12th for the zoned town at Lincoln County Zoning.

 

Byron Lange reported that Behling and Koth Road ditches are in. Grinding will take place the week of the 23rd and then the culverts will be installed. The road crew is working on Wadell Road this week. Duffek Construction will be grubbing on Peaceful Valley Road.

 

The town will be applying for the TRIPS Discretionary funds for Peaceful Valley Road.

 

Discussion for deeding the unused roadway will be placed on the October agenda, as there is a discrepancy on the land description that need to be looked at.

 

Jelinek reported that if our garbage truck breaks down, Baumgart Transfer from Merrill would help us out. The town is waiting to see if Tomahawk Iron & Metal is going to continue to do recycling. Jelinek has made contact with haulers to see if there is an interest. All contacted that showed interest have agreed to haul to Lincoln County Landfill.

 

M/M Huston/Hilgendorf to have Bob Eisenman purchase a new vacuum cleaner for the hall. Passed 4-0

 

M/M Hilgendorf/Koth to purchase a folding machine for approximately $2,500.00 Passed 4-0

 

M/M Huston/Hilgendorf to purchase a tree in memory of Vic Soyko out of the sunshine fund. Passed 4-0

 

Jelinek reported that Dave White has decided not to work at the cemetery. The board discussed having one of the Waste & Recycling workers fill in at the cemetery.

 

Koth reported that the boys from Lincoln Hills would be painting at Kahle Park. The water will be shut off following Harley Weekend. He is also hoping to get the new swings in and the sand yet this year. He will contact Fahrner Asphalt about repaving the tennis courts.

 

Hilgendorf said the hall has been sprayed for bugs and the carpets have been cleaned. The clerk will call Coke about a cover for the Coke machine to avoid the possible ice slides from the roof.

 

A letter from Kent Richert concerning Roberts Road was discussed. Due to accidents on the road he would like to have signs posted for local traffic only, have it made a dead end road, install speed bumps or lower the speed limit. Byron Lange said that the speed limit is as low as the state will allow and a centerline has been added due to the traffic count on the road and for safety. The board feels that the speed problems should be addresses by the Sheriff’s Department. A letter will be written to Mr. Richert.

 

The clerk will be attending the Census Local Update Addresses Program the end of September. The board gave her permission to opt out of the program is there is no charge to do so.

 

Jelinek said that yard waste will be collected at the Tannery Dump site October 6th to November 10th.

 

There will be a meeting for all town employees September 25th at 5:00 P.M.

 

M/M Hilgendorf/Koth to adjourn. Motion passed 4-0
