Town Board Regular Meeting

September 14, 2009  

6:00 P.M.

 

Chairman Kevin Koth called the meeting to order. Present were Supervisors Joan Hilgendorf, Bill Jelinek and LeRoy Rupnow.

 

Following the Pledge of Allegiance Phyllis Evans gave the treasurer’s report as follows:  Building & Office Equipment Fund - $43,387.62, Equipment Fund - $143,044.65, General Savings Account - $2601.28, Checking Account - $277,231.36, Cemetery Building - $20,918.45. Two Greenwood Cemetery CD’s - $100,000.00 and $11,533.08.

 

M/M Hilgendorf/Rupnow to approve the minutes of the meeting on August 10th and 24th. Passed 4-0

 

M/M Jelinek/Hilgendorf to approve payment of vouchers #2639 through #2715. Passed 4-0.

 

No decision was made on the purchase of a new copy machine. The clerk will get information from E.O. Johnson Co. to compare with the Hadley’s. It will be placed on the October agenda.

 

Quest development is five months behind in their tax payments. Kevin will contact WTA to see what steps can be taken to force them to pay.

 

Byron Lange reported High View Road - that the banks are down and the culvert is in,  Norton Road -  the stumps are out and the shoulders cleaned up, Alery Road – the phone lines have to be moved, and Bay Mill Road – American Asphalt will blacktop this year. If there is not enough left in the road budget they will let the town pay it in January. Sand Lane is ready for blacktop. 

 

The clerk will write a letter for Cody Braker for FHA stating that point wells are accepted in the Town.

 

Jelinek reported that the Zero turn mower for the cemetery has broken down and will cost about $900.00 to fix. The board decided not to fix it and to start looking for a replacement.

 

Koth reported that a baseball tournament was held at Kahle Park and ARM has it rented for Harley weekend.  Hilgendorf said that to have a 9 foot cabinet with a sink put in the building will cost about $2650 plus $800 for plumbing and $650 for a water heater.

 

Two bids were received for the steel roof on the shelter at Kahle Park. Hilgendorf stated that she would not discuss nor vote on this as Gary Hilgendorf had put a bid in. Justin Lemke - $2665.20 for labor and materials. Gary Hilgendorf - $2693.24 for both. If we want the remaining shingles removed an additional $350. M/M Jelinek/Rupnow to give Gary Hilgendorf the bid as he has liability insurance. Passed 3-0 with Hilgendorf abstaining.

 

There was nothing to report on building and grounds.

 

M/M Hilgendorf/Jelinek to adopt Resolution 5-09 Which Recommends Amendments to the Town of Bradley Planned Land Use Map Contained Within the Lincoln County Comprehensive Plan. Passed 4-0

 

Harry Gladwin reported that the next Plan Commission meeting will be September 26th.

 

Jelinek said that he had received a phone call asking about the roadside mowing and that the caller felt that it wasn’t necessary. He told the caller that it was done for safety and visibility.

 

A budget meeting has been set for October 28th at 4:45 P.M.

 

M/M Hilgendorf/Jelinek to adjourn. Passed 4-0
