Town Board Regular Meeting

September 13, 2010  

5:30 P.M.

 

Chairman Kevin Koth called the meeting to order. Present were Supervisors Joan Hilgendorf, Bill Jelinek and Robert Eisenman.

Phyllis Evans gave the treasurer’s report as follows:  Building & Office Equipment Fund - $42,760.50 Equipment Fund - $136,857.99, General Savings Account - $54,844.94, Checking Account - $270,814.63, Cemetery Building - $20,233.01, Greenwood Cemetery CD’s - $100,000.00 and $11,823.85.

M/M Hilgendorf/Eisenman to approve the minutes with corrections from the meeting held on August 9th.  Motion passed 4-0. 

M/M Hilgendorf/Jelinek to approve payment of vouchers #3438 through #3508. Motion passed 4-0.

M/M Hilgendorf/Eisenman to approve the operator’s license for Cari Pagel. Motion passed 4-0.

There was no correspondence.

M/M Jelinek/Hilgendorf to sign the Quit Claim Deed and Resolution 2010-4 to approve the discontinuance of a platted but unconstructed portion of Dereg Road. Motion passed 4-0.

Christine Ament, candidate for Clerk of Courts gave a short talk on her qualifications for the office.

Plan Commission Chair Harry Gladwin reported that there had been no meeting in August. The next meeting will be September 27th and there will be a CUP and minor sub-division be for the commission.

M/M Eisenman/Koth to approve Ordinance 2010-2 to Amend Chapter 7 of the Town of Bradley General Code designating snowmobile and all-terrain vehicle routes. Motion passed 4-0.  There were no changes in the routes, just language clean up.

Joe Skubal was not present for his request of “Children at Play” signs for his road so no action was taken.

M/M Hilgendorf/Koth to pay the treasurer and clerk for mileage for town business while the 4th Street bridge is out. Motion passed 4-0.

Byron Lange reported that work was being done on Alery Road this week and they were working on two driveways on Deer Lake Road. Stelling Road was worked on last week. A certified letter was sent to Frederick Clements on Swamp Road to remove the three driveways he put in without a permit. The culverts were too small and have caused flooding on the road.

Supervisor Jelinek asked that the board review the information on cemetery rates from surrounding areas. He felt that they should consider raising the rates somewhat in line with others. It will be placed on the October agenda.

Supervisor Hilgendorf reported Gary Hilgendorf had met with Bob from Hilgy’s concerning updating our furnace system. Bob felt that what we have now is the most efficient for this building. The back furnace should last another 10 years.

Supervisor Hilgendorf reported that Kahle Park is rented for Harley weekend and then the water will be shut off and the Porta-Potties will be cleaned and locked up.

The clerk asked that if the board members and road department were planning any large purchases they let her know as she is in the process of preparing the 2011 budget.
